Femke Vandenberg’s practice concerns the networks of everyday images which surround us. A process of image collection and appropriation allows pop cultural, art historical and anthropological resonances to pervade her work. With orientations to the subliminal, her work spurs considerations on contemporary image flows and conceptual associations that speed through and around us. Vandenberg’s exhibition at Sternview Gallery suggests the gathering and arrangement workings of wunderkammern and wonder rooms. The installation will include over fifty wooden panel paintings.
Vandenberg is a 2014 graduate of CIT Crawford College of Art and Design.
